How does one sum up in a few words our wonderful memories of Hedi and Heinz? It seems impossible, because their lives were a major part of ours. It started with being neighbours who were instrumental in us buying an Airstream trailer and joining the Airstream Club. For 13 years we travelled together seeing most of North American. We were even closer given they were from Germany and we had lived there for a few years. Heinz and Hedi helped form the Krown Rust Control Company and I spent many days at their shop. They were such a warm and giving couple who also supported our Club with donations and loved the Airstream lifestyle. Fortunately after they moved to a retirement home in Thessalon we were able to visit them and again when Hedi moved to St Thomas. We will remember all our fabulous memories but there will always be a huge hole in our hearts.

Dear Anita, Marion and Family,
We are Airstreamers just as your parents were. What an example they were to the Ontario Airstream members! There was nothing better for Hedi and Heinz than a road trip pulling their Airstream! And second to that was attending the rallies! We have followed their example with our Airsteams over the years. And when we meet other folks like us at rallies, the conversation often has memories of Hedi and her dog and Heinz with the trunk of their car packed with Crown goodies that he handed out like it was candy. We vividly remember one rally where a treasure hunt was planned. And we had to use our vehicles. No matter which road we took, we met The Steiert’s and the couple they had invited coming to meet us. We got to the point where we wondered who was actually going in the right direction. When we got back to home base and got chatting with them, we found out they had no idea where they were or which direction they were going! Lots of laughter ensued! When they moved to Thessalon we visited and brought our Airstream travel pictures with us. Sharing our travels together was just plain fun. And we learned so much about where to go on our travels. We will always cherish our friendship with Hedi&Heinz.
With deepest sympathy,
John&Linda Smith
