Obituary of Jeff Stott
STOTT – Jeffery John of St Thomas passed away peacefully with the love of his life by his side at St Thomas-Elgin General Hospital on Friday, July 12, 2024 at the age of 66. Beloved husband of Dayle Stott (nee Curley). Jeff is survived by his daughters Fay, Jacqueline and Racheal; 4 grandchildren; siblings Karen (late Val), Nancy (late John), Michael (Melissa), Darrel (Buffy), late Craig (Sylvia) and late Jimmy (Gerry). Predeceased by his mother Penny Alice Stott and father James Herbert Stott.
Jeff worked at the Ford Motor Company Assembly in Talbotville for 35 years. Semi-retired he continued to work for Metcalfe gardens for 10 years. Jeff’s passions included gardening, antiquing, watching all sports, especially golf and hockey. His favourite team is the Colorado Avalanche. He loved history, reading and traveling. He shared many memories of his traveling adventures, especially fond of the ones with his brother Craig.
Jeff had a deep love of all animals and enjoyed living with all the creatures that seemed to show up and not leave. Always rescuing and adopting animals in need, his love for all will always be remembered but especially Barney, Bruce, Bert, Bucky, Baxter and Bennie.
Jeff showed extreme strength and fought a courageous battle after being diagnosed with stage four esophageal cancer. Special thanks to Dr. Breadner, Nurse Jen, PSW Omar of STEGH for your compassionate and attentive care for Jeff.
Jeff’s intelligence, dry and witty sense of humour and his smirk will always be missed and remembered. Even in his final hours Jeff was able to make jokes and continued to worry for everyone else other than himself, a true testament to the funny, giving, and loving man he was. At his request cremation has taken place and no memorial or funeral to be held.
