Obituary of Mary Elizabeth Kennedy

KENNEDY – Mary Elizabeth of St Thomas passed away peacefully at LHSC – Victoria Hospital on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 after a lengthy illness at the age of 80..  Survived by her sister Nancy Kennedy, niece Charline Savage (T.J.) and their children Logan and Avery.  Also survived by her sister Cathy Osborne and numerous nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by sisters Ann Govier (late Richard), Judy Meacham (late Glen) and bother-in-law John Osborne as well as nieces Heather Meacham and Shari Savage.  Mary was born June 5, 1943 – the fourth daughter of Rev. William and Mrs. Evelyn Kennedy.  She was a retired legal secretary and worked at several law firms in St Thomas and London throughout her career.  Mary was known for her outgoing personality and sense of humour as well as her love of shopping and profound ability to hunt down a great deal.  As per Mary’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no funeral.  The family would like to thank Dr. Melissa Tenbergen and Ashley Priem for their dedication and care over the last several years.  They would also like to thank the staff at the Adult Day Program at Valleyview Home, nurse Nadine at LHSC and the home care staff who made it possible for Mary to continue to live in the comfort of her home.  Arrangements entrusted to Simplicity Cremation, 125-750 Talbot Street, St. Thomas (226-210-1086).  If desired, donations to Adult Day Program Valleyview Home would be appreciated.  Share a memory at www.simplicity-cremation.ca
