Obituary of Fred J Kalliokoski
Fred Jorma Kalliokoski passed away July 16, 2025. Born in Timmins Ontario on April 29, 1940. Survived by his best friend, colleague, and travelling companion, wife, Judy.
Predeceased by his parents August Kalliokoski and Mary (Bennett) Kalliokoski.
Predeceased by his wife, Carol in 1999
Survived by his brother Pastor Tom Kalliokoski (Deb)) predeceased by his brother Jack Kalliokoski.
Survived by his children Dale Kalliokoski and Lori Scott, grandchildren, Amanda, Hayley Sophia, Xavier, Aussie, stepchildren Nina (Ken), Allen (Lorraine), step grandchildren Rachel (Robert),) Taylor (Dan). Alaina and Mitchell and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Fred's stellar career as a professional accountant was highlighted by his volunteer service auditing several churches and non-profit organizations. He was in practice for over 40 years, in Brantford, and Port Stainley during which time, he achieved several certifications and credentials.
He was recognized by the Certified General Accountants Association of Ontario as a life member and became a Fellow of the Certified General Association of Canada.
He was a Past Master of St. George Lodge, cumulating his career as Distract Deputy Grand Master for Brant district, becoming a member of Grand Lodge.
He was a past president of the Brantford Shrine Club and a sword swinger in their Oriental band. He enjoyed his golf outings with good friend Tosh and with Judy.
Fred loved to travel and had been to South Africa, Peru, Chile, Finland, France, Spain, Scotland, Portugal and many Canadian provinces and US states with Judy. They chose Portugal as a winter destination for several years where they made lifelong friends.
Fred's favorite charity was the Shriners Children's Hospital.
A private family memorial with scattering of ashes will take place.
Many thanks to the CCU staff at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital. Their exemplary care made his final days more comfortable.
