Obituary of Celeste Tonin

 TONIN – Celeste “Tony” of St Thomas passed away peacefully on June 17th, at the age of 87, at the St Thomas-Elgin General Hospital, with his wife by his side. Tony was born in San Giovanni Ilarione, Italy in 1938, and came to Canada where he met his beloved wife Margarete, creating their life together in St. Thomas. If you knew Tony, you knew that he and hard work went hand-in-hand, and retirement wouldn’t change that. He loved his garden and winemaking .

Tony will be deeply missed by Margarete, his children Claudio Tonin, Adriana Lizotte (Ricky) and grandchildren Shawn and Shannon Lizotte, as well as his sisters Gina, Graziella, Lauretta. We rejoice in the fact that he will be joining his parents, and sisters Maria, Rosalina, and Pia.

Cremation has taken place, with arrangements entrusted to Simplicity Cremation 750 Talbot Street, Suite #203 St. Thomas N5P 1E2 (226-210-1086). A private Mass and Celebration of Life will take place, and in lieu of flowers, the family would ask for donations to a charity of your choice.
