Obituary of Richard Gerald Leach
LEACH, Richard Gerald of St Thomas passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 9th 2025, at the age of 76. Beloved husband of 56 years to his wife Judy. Richard is survived by his children Raymond (Dawn Marie) Leach, Jennifer Leach, and Richard Jr (Carrie) Leach, and grandchildren Dylan, Samantha, Cara, Emily, and Aaron, and his 6 beautiful great-grandchildren. He will be missed also by his siblings Ronnie (Barb), Evelyn (late Ron), Bob (Liz), Garry (Patti), Bill (Debbie), Cathy (Paul), and Anna (Frances). Richard was born on March 16, 1949, the son of the late Verna Gagne and of the late Raymond Leach (Nancy).
Rick enjoyed a long career in fire protection, working at Vipond as a member of Local UA 853 Sprinkler Fitters of Ontario. He enjoyed family dinners, where he could spoil and spend time with his great-grandchildren, and eat those desserts he really shouldn’t have. Rick’s devotion was being a member of the Community of Christ Church where he was Head Deacon, and he always looked forward to saying the opening and closing prayers.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Simplicity Cremation, 750 Talbot St, Suite #203, St Thomas N5P 1E2 (226-210-1086).
A short Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at 11:00 am at the Community of Christ Church at 105 Fairview Ave., St. Thomas, ON, immediately followed by lunch.
